Early Universalists let god worry about the inherent worth and dignity of other folks. If we were to do that we would have to 1) Believe in god and 2) Accept that we aren’t the center of the universe. That sounds unnecessary and hard (in that order). So instead, the service today will ask you to take the easy road. Don’t love everyone, don’t do everything, and still avoid UU Hell!
