Benjie Messer has been our music director since January 2013, and is proud to supervise the vibrant, varied musical life of our congregation. He is enrolled in the UUA’s Music Leadership Certification Program, and holds a Masters in Music Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Benjie’s previous musical experience includes leading a New Orleans brass band, arranging for a digital music start-up, composing for film and media, teaching music courses at various colleges, and teaching elementary school general music. His vision is that our music program reflects our lives, welcomes us in, and allows us to grow, whether we play in an ensemble, sing from our seats during service, or listen quietly.
