Hi! I’m Katie (She/Her) My husband (Rob) and I recently moved to Phoenix and so far, we really love it here! We have 4 children and a grandson. A few of my favorite things are family, music, vegan food, and the San Francisco 49ers!
Judy Mawhinney
Judy Mawhinney is glad to be joining the UUCP family. She moved from Orlando, FL to Phoenix this past January to be closer to her daughter, Rev. Christine Dance and Christine’s wife Karen. Judy has lived all over the world, including Ohio, Virginia, Spain and Mexico. She has been in a number of protestant denominations in her long life—Lutheran, Anglican, Methodist and Episcopalian—but loves the UU ideals that all people have value and that all should be treated equally.

I love learning about other people… I am drawn to the arts… I’m slowly teaching myself how to write a comic book… I’d love to learn how to dance sometime soon!
Cheryl Thomas
I was born and raised in Michigan, where I learned the value of community at a young age. Following my graduation from Central Michigan University in 1986, I moved to Arizona to pursue a graduate degree in communication at the University of Arizona. My husband Bruce and I have two wonderful young adult sons, Geoff and Kyle, and we are now adjusting to life as “empty nesters.” I currently manage the charitable gifts office for Hospice of the Valley and in my free time enjoy snuggling with my cats, listening to music, reading and watching movies.
